PRIVACY & YOUR DATA
Privacy, written plainly.
Your reading life is personal. This policy explains what Ambro needs to operate, what stays on your device, and the choices that remain yours.
Last updated August 3, 2026
The short version
You can read without an account. If you create one, Ambro stores the information needed to sign you in and sync the reading data you choose to save. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Information Ambro handles
- Account information: your email address, display name, account identifier, and sign-in provider when you create an account.
- Reading data: your bookmarks, highlights, notes, and reading position. For signed-out readers, this stays on the device. For signed-in readers, it is synced to your account.
- AI requests: the selected verse and the words you submit when you use Simplify, Explain, or Ask. These are processed to provide the feature you requested.
- Technical information: limited information our service providers may process to keep Ambro secure and working, such as request, device, and diagnostic information.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate your account, sync your library, restore your reading position, answer requests you make, protect the service, fix problems, and respond when you contact support. We do not use your saved notes or reading activity for advertising.
Services that help Ambro operate
Ambro uses Google Firebase for authentication and cloud data storage, Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In when you choose them, and OpenAI to power Bible explanation and conversation features. These providers process information under their own privacy and security terms. Apple may provide Ambro with a private relay address when you choose to hide your email. AI output may be cached by verse and prompt so the same general explanation does not need to be generated repeatedly; the cache is not your private library or account profile.
Retention, control, and deletion
Guest reading data remains on your device until you remove the app or clear its data. Account and synced reading data are kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud data inside Ambro under Account & Privacy → Delete account.
You may also contact us to ask a privacy question or request help exercising your data rights. Some limited records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, although no internet service can promise absolute security. Ambro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Ambro evolves. The date above will change when we do. Questions can be sent to nickciambrone@gmail.com.
